Children's:

The Children's Writing Resource Center -- Offers articles and "how to's" for writing for children. You'll also find tips for beginners, a chat room and message board, and a spot where you can ask a guest author questions.

The "slush pile" isn't the greatest place to be, and we all know that. But at The Slush Pile website, you'll find the support of fellow children's writers who are striving for publication. The site even accepts submissions.

Christian:

Christian Writers Fellowship International -- Organization for Christian writers.

Writers Information Network -- Professional association for Christian writers.

OHzone : Where Christian Writers Meet--resource for writers of original Christian fiction and/or poetry.

Freelance:

Editor & Publisher -- Classified ads, online newspapers, and research links.

Internet News Bureau -- Links to online job banks, news organizations, professional associations, mailing lists, and additional journalism websites.

Horror:

The HWA: Horror Writers Association -- Provides its members with a regular newsletter, the latest news on paying markets, and websites of interest to horror writers.

Literary:

If you're a fan of Shakespeare, you'll enjoyThe Collected Works of Shakespeare online. The site features the complete text of his plays and is truly worth a visit. You'll even find a Shakespeare search engine!

The Mississippi Review is a national literary magazine published in print form twice a year. At the website, you can read literary pieces, or submit your own work for consideration.

Mainstream:

If you love mysteries, you must visitMysteryNet.Com. From this website, you can access The Case, where you can try your hand at solving mysteries throughout the week. Learn the history of the mystery, or find out what mysteries are being shown on TV.

Nonfiction:

Creative Nonfiction -- A journal devoted exclusively to creative nonfiction, including essays, profiles, and reviews.

Poetry:

Academy of American Poets Listening Booth -- Hear your favorite poets recite their own poetry! For example, you can hear Robert Frost recite, "The Road Not Taken."

The Live Poets Society -- "A place for poets of all kinds to gather and be poetic." The site accepts poetry submissions, so spruce up your poems and let's see them online!

Romance:

Romance Authors Page -- Resources for writers, new software, research information, and "how to's" from the experts.
