Water Sports

 By Robin Nobles (6/27/97)

In these hot and sultry summer months, sometimes the only comfortable place to be is in the water. Let's look for sites on water activities and see what we can find.

If you enjoy swimming, Swim Info--Online Swimming Encyclopedia offers training and techniques, results and records, articles, and even a swim shop.

What about a site devoted to divers? Diving World Wide Web features Olympic diving history, FINA rules, educational resources for coaches, FINA degrees of difficulty, and more.

WebSwim is another swimming site that features swimming advice and information, superstars, competitions, waterpolo, open water swimming, and even synchronized swimming.

The Water Skiers Web offers information on all kinds of water skiing, such as barefoot, air chair, wake boarding, kneeboarding, slalom, and trick skiing.

Visit The Personal Watercraft Zone for water craft information.

Sailing Online Services features sailing terminology, links, pictures, and classifieds.

At The WWW of Canoe and Kayak, you'll find links for techniques and safety, clubs and organizations, do-it-yourselfers, canoe navigators, and more.

Dive The Net is an online guide for scuba divers that features destinations, training, and equipment.

Mark Rosenstein's Sailing Page is packing with information on sailing boats, such as learn to sail opportunities, sailing software, sailboat plan resources, equipment, and clubs.

Nautical Know How contains a safe boating certification course and boating safety tips galore.

Have you ever wanted to try surfing? At Surf--The Learning Curve, you'll find out how to read the waves, how to catch a ride and stand up, and wave riding alternatives, such as boogie boards and body surfing.

The United States Water Polo Site contains information on men's, women's, junior, and master's water polo, as well as teams and events.

The World Wide Web Virtual Library: Rowing features Olympic information and an abundance of rowing resources.

All about Windsurfing.

Next week, we'll look for July 4 and Independence Day sites. See you then.
