November is Alzheimer's Awareness Month and National Diabetes Month. World AIDS Day is December 1, and December 1-7 is Aplastic Anemia Awareness Week. As with all medical issues when searching the Net, these sites are intended to provide information and educational material and are not designed to provide medical advice. Please consult your own health care provider regarding any medical issues.

The Diabetes Unite Homepage discusses the May 8, 1998, Capitol Campaign for a Cure where diabetics, their families, and friends will meet in Washington to focus attention on the seriousness of diabetes and the need for a cure.

No doubt about it, one of the best sites on the Internet for diabetes is the Children with Diabetes website. It features a diabetes clinic, message boards, chat rooms, and more resources than can be mentioned here.

The Alzheimer's Association is a national health organization dedicated to researching for the causes, cure, and prevention of Alzheimer's disease. The website provides caregiver resources, research and medical information, and help in finding a chapter near you.

The Aplastic Anemia Foundation of America offers free publications including the Aplastic Anemia Answer Book, which explains the rare but extremely serious disorder.

Written by the University of Texas at Houston Medical School, Aplastic Anemia-Introduction for the General Physician provides information on diagnosis, treatment, transfusions, and more.

The Centers for Disease Control National AIDS Clearinghouse features HIV/AIDS and STD information about education and prevention. Read the "Revised Guidelines for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents in HIV Infected Adults and Adolescents" or "Overseas AZT Trials."

The AIDS Handbook was written by middle school kids for middle school kids, and it outlines the prevention, transmission, symptoms, and treatment of AIDS in easy-to-understand language.

The HIV/AIDS Surveillance Reports contains tabular and graphic information about AIDS case reports including data by state, mode of exposure, age group, race, and more.
