Resources for Hunters
By Robin Nobles (10/17/97)
Hunting season is here, and area hunters are once again lurking in the woods, hoping for a big kill (my husband included). The Internet provides a virtual storehouse of information on different types of hunting, gun and hunter safety, hunting tips, and even websites for ordering clothing and equipment.
If you're looking for bowhunting information, you'll find it at Bowhunting.Net. The site contains a live chat area, a bulletin board for asking questions or making comments, and a Trade-A-Hunt database where you can trade a good hunt for a hunt you want to go on. Looking for a hunting partner, or perhaps a listing of bowhunting organizations? You'll find both here.
For tips and articles on black powder hunting, visit the Black Powder Journal. Learn how to choose the right powder and how to sight in your muzzle-loading rifle.
For a true hunter's paradise, check out Hunting Net, where you'll find information on all types of game. Visit with other hunters in their live chat room, or learn hunting tips, techniques, and strategies from the experts. Take quizzes on various animals and aspects of successfully hunting them. Find recipes for cooking wild game, or take a hunting trivia challenge.
North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association contains information on the association itself as well as articles on training your dog, facts about their testing procedures, and a listing of which breeds are considered "versatile."
For information on deer hunting, visit Deer.com, where you'll find a listing of deer-related organizations that include archery, hunting, and shooting; bow hunting clubs; deer farming sites; land for sale and lease; articles; and state game agencies.
Ken's Hunting Page features links to websites for hunting squirrel, rabbit, turkey, goose, waterfowl, quail, wild hogs, pheasant, and much more.
