Halloween Fun on the Net

By Robin Nobles (10/16/98)

With Halloween a couple of weeks away, let's visit the Internet to see what ideas we can find for costumes, recipes, parties, crafts, and just plain old Halloween fun!

We'll begin at a delightful site, Halloween Net, where you'll find a Halloween book and movie guide, ghost stories, and even frightening food ideas. Try mouth-watering recipes like Dead Meat, or learn some tricks for making this Halloween the best ever!

Absolutely Halloween gets you in the mood for the occasion as soon as the website loads on your page. You'll find a 3D Haunted House you can print out for your kids to color. Or, visit the Playground for games, coloring sheets, mazes, and ideas for decorations. A Scary Night is an interactive story *you* can participate in, or visit Sounds of Fear for some spooky Halloween music.

At the Virtual Haunted House, you can go on two different haunted tours, or take a Halloween trivia test. Participate in a scavenger hunt, or find some scary Halloween graphics. Middle school children created this site, and they've done a marvelous job with it.

With sites like these, no wonder Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! Haunted Halloween lets you download your own creepy Halloween fonts, gives you ideas on how to create a haunted house, and offers suggestions for fun Halloween parties.

No matter what season, Billy Bear's Playground offers a wonderful time for kids! Carve your own pumpkin online, or play a Halloween dress up game. Print out and color Halloween invitations for your own party, or play a Witch's Wart Game.

If you need help carving your Halloween pumpkin, visit Swan's Pumpkin Carving Page for patterns you can print out as well as pumpkin carving tips.

Finally, we'll close with a site that offers a fabulous listing of Halloween links, Happy Halloween. You'll find links to haunted hotels, Halloween safety games, and even mazes for you to print out and do at home. Enjoy!
