Basketball on the Web

By Robin Nobles

NBA.Com, the official site of the National Basketball Association, is a "must see" site for basketball fans. Read the latest NBA news, listen to every NBA game online, or glance over the complete NBA schedule. Buy an authentic NBA jersey (hint: Christmas is coming up), or view video clips. The site even features a complete NBA player directory.

For information on women's basketball, visit WNBA.Com, where you can watch video clips, learn scores and stats, or read about the individual players. The site features a WNBA store, live chat, email addresses for some of the players, and even a forum for fans. Excellent site!

The College Hoops Section of OnlySports.Com provides an in-depth look at college basketball information. Categories include polls, team sites, coaches, nicknames, and more.

At the History of College Basketball, you can learn about college ball from 1938 to 1997, from the top 100 players to the top 25 teams.

How about a basketball page for the "thinking fans"? Visit Alleyoop.Com, where you'll find information on the draft, all stars, and even injury reports. At the players' rating center, you can view a player's ratings by team or position.

At the Coach's Edge - Know the Game, you can learn the game of basketball from a coach's perspective. Read an article entitled, "Understand the offense of one of the Western Conference's best as they set their sights on the 1998 Finals!" and more.

An excellent site for basketball information is Nando's Basketball Server. Links are provided to NCAA Basketball, the American Basketball League, the Continental Basketball Association, and the U.S. Basketball League.

On Hoops is a Net ezine devoted to the sport of basketball, where you can read no-holds-barred commentaries and opinions in articles such as, "The NBA's Rule of Law" and "Earl Strom Memories-Complete!"

Bonus.Com for kids features a wonderful section for basketball, including games such as Super Dunk or Hoops.

We'll close with a very helpful site filled with much more than sports information: Cool Site Central. View their listing of the top 100 websites, or see what cool sites made it to their "Cool Site of the Day." Subscribe to receive a Cool Site of the Day through email.
